God wants you to enter His Rest…but what if God means nothing to you?

What you’ll find below is the true story of the History of what has happened, could happen and will happen- I hope by sharing the story of God’s Grace with you along with the reality of the reality of Spiritual reality you’ll come to a greater understanding of what God wants for you.

It all began a rather long time ago…

Before the Creation of Earth in the Heavenly Realm

Lucifer, “The Anointed Cherub that Covers” was a created being just like all the other angels of Heaven. Just like all the other angels in Heaven he had the ability to think for himself and come to make choices and decisions, and he decided that He wanted the Glory only meant for one being.

God the Triune one: God the Father, God the Son, God the Holy Spirit. Creator and sovereign of all things.

Pride was the first sin, and it was first committed in Heaven long before a repeat performance in a most glorious garden.

Lucifer managed to convince not only himself of his right- his need to be exalted, to place himself at the center of his life- but with cold logic he managed to convince one third of the angels of Heaven of the same thing. He stirred their pride against the creator of all things and brought about the first fall.

God in His mercy evicted them from Heaven.

Isaiah 14:12-15

12 Shining morning star,[c]
how you have fallen from the heavens!
You destroyer of nations,
you have been cut down to the ground.
13 You said to yourself:
“I will ascend to the heavens;
I will set up my throne
above the stars of God.
I will sit on the mount of the gods’ assembly,
in the remotest parts of the North.[d]
14 I will ascend above the highest clouds;
I will make myself like the Most High.”
15 But you will be brought down to Sheol
into the deepest regions of the Pit.

However just like in the times of Job Satan has access to the throne and He can ask God for permission to rock your world- and the bigger a stand you take as a believer, the more he’ll take notice and ask for permission.

The good news in this case though is that there will come a time when Satan and his ilk will be cast out from Heaven for good never to return and it is described below.

Revelation 12:7-12

Then war broke out in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon. The dragon and his angels also fought, but he could not prevail, and there was no place for them in heaven any longer. So the great dragon was thrown out—the ancient serpent, who is called the Devil and Satan, the one who deceives the whole world. He was thrown to earth, and his angels with him.

10 Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say:

The salvation and the power
and the kingdom of our God
and the authority of His Messiah
have now come,
because the accuser of our brothers
has been thrown out:
the one who accuses them
before our God day and night.
11 They conquered him
by the blood of the Lamb
and by the word of their testimony,
for they did not love their lives
in the face of death.
12 Therefore rejoice, you heavens,
and you who dwell in them!
Woe to the earth and the sea,
for the Devil has come down to you
with great fury,
because he knows he has a short time.

(Please note that the above passage of scripture hasn’t even occurred yet- in fact as a Believer- I like the rest of the Bride will be in Heaven to see this War and the Casting out of Satan and his angels! So to my unbelieving friends if you think it’s bad now it can and will get much much worse- there is still time to come to the Lord and accept His Salvation.

Eventually Satan intruded into the Garden of Eden to sow the lie that he had sown to Himself and His angels into the lives of Adam and Eve. The sin of Pride…of taking the center position in your own life- taking your life into your own hands.

In the Garden of Eden

God lovingly formed Adam out of the dust of the earth, and breathed into him “The Breath of Life”- placed within him part of His Spirit- and Adam became a living soul. Adam was alive both physically and spiritually walking in tandem with God in Spirit and in Truth. When God put Adam to sleep and formed a woman out of part of him, she too had both physical and spiritual life- both Adam and Eve walked in physical and spiritual unity.

The Bible is unclear about how long they lived in both physical and spiritual unity with each other and God but eventually the Fallen One, Satan entered the scene confronting Adam and Eve near the forbidden tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil in the center of the garden.

Since he’s the father of lies speaking through this serpent, his lies are as practiced as truths and easily slip off the tongue.

Genesis 3:1-4

3 Now the serpent was the most cunning of all the wild animals that the Lord God had made. He said to the woman, “Did God really say, ‘You can’t eat from any tree in the garden’?”

The woman said to the serpent, “We may eat the fruit from the trees in the garden. But about the fruit of the tree in the middle of the garden, God said, ‘You must not eat it or touch it, or you will die.’”

“No! You will not die,” the serpent said to the woman. “In fact, God knows that when you eat it your eyes will be opened and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

The death mentioned in these verses is of course spiritual death. The tree and its fruit are very real, as real as spiritual life and death. Basically Adam and Eve were spiritually alive- walking perfectly with God and each other in spiritual unity- God had placed the tree in the garden to symbolize a choice. They had all they needed without what was on that tree, God provided for them spiritually and physically- however the option of taking from the tree was there- quite literally by taking from the tree if they chose to do so was to take their lives into their own hands.

Genesis 3:6-8

Then the woman saw that the tree was good for food and delightful to look at, and that it was desirable for obtaining wisdom. So she took some of its fruit and ate it; she also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it. Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made loincloths for themselves.
8 Then the man and his wife heard the sound of the Lord God walking in the garden at the time of the evening breeze, and they hid themselves from the Lord God among the trees of the garden.

Through this lie, and Eve’s and Adam’s belief in the lie and subsequently taking and eating from the tree- they had cut themselves off spiritually from God and from eternal life. This is how Satan was determined to ruin God’s greatest creation.

However God had a plan- Plan A- put into effect long before the beginning of creation.

And even in the aftermath of the fall of man God promises a way of Redemption.

Genesis 3:14-15

14 Then the Lord God said to the serpent:

Because you have done this,
you are cursed more than any livestock
and more than any wild animal.
You will move on your belly
and eat dust all the days of your life.
15 I will put hostility between you and the woman,
and between your seed and her seed.
He will strike your head,
and you will strike his heel.

Here is the promise of the savior. God the Son, Jesus Christ, the Incarnation.

Jesus came to live a perfect and holy life. He came to heal the sick. Raise the dead. And start bringing His kingdom and authority in this dying creation.

Most importantly though He came to Die- in our place- to take the wrath of God that was destined for us on himself. And if we accept His sacrifice by Grace through Faith- then we will be Born Again.

God didn’t come in Christ to help us not to Sin…he came to make spiritually dead people alive!

All Born Dead

Just like everyone who’s been born naturally, Jesus was of course born Supernaturally, I was born dead. All of us were born dead. All of us had a little piece of God’s Spirit planted within us but we were spiritually dead, “born in trespasses and sins”.

We don’t even realize that we are spiritually dead because Satan has blindfolded us to the truth, or to use another picture of spiritual reality, we’re locked up in a storage unit on the verge of death but we don’t even realize it- only Christ has the key to that storage unit. He opens it up, and we are blinded by the light of truth, He tells us our true state that of spiritual death. Our only way out of that unit is to accept His death for us, it’s up to us to choose if we’re going to believe the God-man Christ or not. If we shun Him we will die in our sins- locked up in that storage unit- if we choose Him then-.

John 3:3-8

Jesus replied, “I assure you: Unless someone is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

“But how can anyone be born when he is old?” Nicodemus asked Him. “Can he enter his mother’s womb a second time and be born?”

Jesus answered, “I assure you: Unless someone is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. Whatever is born of the flesh is flesh, and whatever is born of the Spirit is spirit. Do not be amazed that I told you that you must be born again. The wind blows where it pleases, and you hear its sound, but you don’t know where it comes from or where it is going. So it is with everyone born of the Spirit.

Born Again!

If we accept the Lord we will be Born Again- this literally means Born from Heaven- God sends His Holy Spirit and we are once and for all, right then and there, no strings attached, always and forever- His.

The Holy Spirit, God the Holy Spirit, indwells- lives in-sets up shop- makes His home- in the tent of our bodies. Not only that but He promises to never Leave us or Forsake us! The Holy Spirit is the Seal of God- the down payment for eternity- the assurance of forever with God the creator of the Universe.

Just to be entirely clear being Born Again is NOT something we do for ourselves but something God does for us!

As it states in the passage below we are transferred from the Domain of Darkness to the Kingdom of the Son He loves. We are removed from our storage unit into a mansion. Sins- forgotten by the Father. White as snow. Pure. Undefiled. A Saint. Always  His.

Colossians Chapter 1:9-14

9 For this reason also, since the day we heard this, we haven’t stopped praying for you. We are asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, 10 so that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to Him, bearing fruit in every good work and growing in the knowledge of God. 11 May you be strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, for all endurance and patience, with joy12 giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you to share in the saints’ inheritance in the light. 13 He has rescued us from the domain of darkness and transferred us into the kingdom of the Son He loves. 14 We have redemption, the forgiveness of sins, in Him.

2 Corinthians 5:17

Holman Christian Standard Bible (HCSB)

17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away, and look, new things have come.

Living by Faith

Once your Born Again it’s all about growing in your faith in a daily walk with God. Just like the wind the Holy Spirit can seems to lead the true believer all over the place, in fact the Word talks about that very aspect in Christian growth in the verses below.

Romans 12:1-2

12 Therefore, brothers, by the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this age, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may discern what is the good, pleasing, and perfect will of God.

Before I was Born Again to be honest I rarely read the Bible it held not real interest to me, if I could get truth and knowledge from my pastor why should I take the time to study for myself.

However once I was Born Again, I fed on the Word like a starving man who had just found a banquet table of inexhaustible food and desserts! I began a journey through the study of the Bible through the power of the Holy Spirit alone that transformed me and still does.

I refused to remain conformed to my Seventh-Day Adventist roots- because God the Holy Spirit was drawing me unto Himself. He was severing me, sometimes painfully and with much struggle, from what I thought I needed to be into the man of God He is still conforming me into.

From legalism and what can I do to help assure my salvation to Freedom in Christ and what can I do to praise and bring glory to God FOR my salvation!

Through Jesus Christ I have entered into the true Sabbath rest talked about in Hebrews Chapter 4:

Hebrews 4:1-11

Therefore, while the promise to enter His rest remains, let us fear that none of you should miss it. For we also have received the good news just as they did; but the message they heard did not benefit them, since they were not united with those who heard it in faith (for we who have believed enter the rest), in keeping with what He has said:

So I swore in My anger,
they will not enter My rest.

And yet His works have been finished since the foundation of the world, for somewhere He has spoken about the seventh day in this way:

And on the seventh day
God rested from all His works.

Again, in that passage He says, They will never enter My rest. Since it remains for some to enter it, and those who formerly received the good news did not enter because of disobedienceagain, He specifies a certain day—today—speaking through David after such a long time, as previously stated:

Today, if you hear His voice,
do not harden your hearts.

For if Joshua had given them rest, God would not have spoken later about another day. Therefore, a Sabbath rest remains for God’s people. 10 For the person who has entered His rest has rested from his own works, just as God did from His. 11 Let us then make every effort to enter that rest, so that no one will fall into the same pattern of disobedience.

Look at verses 9-10…that’s me..and could be you too…I pray if it’s not you yet it will be.

Stop striving to get into Heaven by good works, that won’t work…and get in there through believing in the name of Jesus Christ and going to the Cross and giving up your life because it’s the only way that will work..

Remember Salvation is NOT about what we can do for God but what God HAS DONE for us!

I have an Adventist friend that often…asks…or implies that other people are in control of me as a person. To him I’d like to say this God is the one in control of me- for I am His and He purchased me with the greatest price imaginable. It will often seem as if I’m not on the same page as you, (if you’re still spiritually dead I am not on the same page as you).

All that means is that God is still working non-stop on the both of us, and that the writing of this article is as important for you as it was for me.

In Conclusion

It’s been a busy time for me this year making The Thief in The Night however I have not been neglecting the Word. God continues to reach out through the Word, brothers and sisters in Christ- and blogs like this (and a great many better than this) in order that more will come to Him and be Born Again.

He Loves you…He wants you to come to Him…being as good as you can will not save you if you are not Born Again…then you are not really alive. God doesn’t grade on a curve- but gives all the same way to be saved- through Jesus Christ and Him alone!

In Christ,

Youve hit on the head the Great Conterversy in a nutshell so glad you are seeing th light,

    • rossbondreturns says:

Except I’m not talking about the Great Controversy at all. In fact there is no Great Controversy. On the Cross the decisive blow was struck…and as a Believer- filled and sealed with the Holy Spirit- we simply wait for the Groom to call us home.

The only great anything is the great decision…will you surrender your life to Christ- that decision will change everything. You’ll no longer have to worry about the False teachings or Doctrines of Adventism. The Investigative Judgment for instance will look as ridiculous as any false teaching once you’ve surrendered to Christ.

In Christ there are no denominations but one group- Christians.

  2. Larry says:

“What God wants for you” eh?

Do you suppose Holy Spirit wants you adding pretib-rapture doctrines of demons to the book of Revelation?

Rewards for such are itemized in Rev. 22:18,19

Might I suggest you are unfit to teach, and should be sharply rebuked?

    • rossbondreturns says:

Certainly God the Holy Spirit who lives in me and seals me for Heaven wants me to teach the Rapture.

After all God the Son Jesus Christ taught it…and Paul Taught it…and he got all of his teaching of the Gospel and his spiritual knowledge from the risen Christ!

Perhaps you should also consider Re. 22:18-19…especially if you believe in such falsehoods as soul sleep, the Investigative Judgment, Sabbath as the seal of God, and that Humans do not Have a Spirit within them that needs to be reborn.

My Spirit was Born Again by God the Father from Heaven when I came to Him- it was dead before.

Since I was spiritually reborn I entered into the Rest mentioned in Hebrews 4.

Since no one can see the Kingdom of God if they are not Born of the Flesh and Born of the Spirit…it would seem that Adventists and any who teach that humans don’t have a Spirit are treading on deadly thin ice if that.

I pray that you take things up seriously with God and study the Word through The Holy Spirit and nothing else.

  3. beiiiiiiiiiiiii says:

ross read daniel 12 what is the book they are talking aout in te same sentrnce with the ressurection of the dead?

    • rossbondreturns says:

Why don’t you tell me. Because all the translations that I have simply say the book.

Of course when you’re Born Again and transferred from the Domain of Darkness to the Kingdom of the Son…you no longer come under judgment.

You’re in Christ in God seated in Heavenly places,,,God the Holy Spirit lives in you a surety eternity in heaven.

And God promised in John 14:3 that He would return and call us to come to where He is.

      The Father’s House…Heaven…where He’s preparing for us a place.

In Revelation 19 where is the Bride of Christ…the Church located when the Second Coming happens?

      God Bless,

oss you hae this blog or whatever you call it I ask you a simple question and becacause you dont like what I am am asking you you aid the question. Yo are the one who said the Bible sould be stuided as a whole. If you are going to dicount the old Testament why do you bring up Lucfer etc. Ross lets at least he an honest response to a question inead of a direct dodge.

      • rossbondreturns says:

        I didn’t dodge it…I answered it.

It says it’s the book…so which book that means is anoners guess. My question is just as important if not moreso because it’s KEY to our understanding.

        Please try and answer it.

  4. beiiiiiiiiiiiii says:

wow ross you hae nouther fan notify Tinker

    • rossbondreturns says:

Why would I do that Brian?

If you’d read the post above you’d know that the one in charge of my life is God. He’s the one that add members to Himself- brings people to Himself that form the church- His Bride.

The Tinker’s just like others in the Bride of Christ are simply wonderful believers that I happen to know personally. We lift each other up in our walk and bring glory to God, not to each other.

Also I don’t have another fan- God does apparently and sent this person to my site for spiritual sustenance. So God has honored me with another reader whom I can show the glory of God to the person through the work that God does through me.

To God and God alone be the Glory Brian.

  6. Larry says:

Mormons add to Revelation. They claim to know God, but display teachings that violate scripture.

Just like SDA’s and JW’s do. All cults add to Revelation, that comes as no big suprise.

And we should let the cult of Calvary Chapel off the hook for exactly what reason?

Does a person comprimise their salvation whatsoever by being able to identify doctrines of demons and false teachers such as Chuck Smith?

    • rossbondreturns says:

Thanks for your response and question.

I attend services at both the local Evangelical Free Church and the Calvary Chapel. Coming out of Adventism I take the labeling of things a a cult very seriously.

I have found no evidence that Calvary Chapel is a cult…nor has the Holy Spirit in any way brought that possibility even to mind.

We go through the Bible verse by verse and the teaching is always Biblically accurate.

I would however be interested by what you have to say that leads you to the labeling of Calvary Chapel as a cult.

      • Curious says:

I have read over both of your blogs Ross and find them very entertaining and informative. I have come across comments from others though that suggest that Calvary Chapel is a cult. I have no knowledge of Chuck Smith other than the fact he founded the organization. On what basis are these accusations being made?

      • rossbondreturns says:

Thanks for reading my blogs I hope to become more active now that the film is in Post Production.

As for your question I really don’t know the answer- I do however know that if a Calvary Chapel splits and teaches new doctrine/beliefs that conflict with the stated doctrinal positions of Calvary Chapel that they must stop using the Calvary Chapel name.

This in fact happened in one case when Pastor Chuck’s son began teaching in a way that was not the same as those held by the CC family of churches. It was very painful but Pastor Chuck had to ask his own son to remove his congregation from the CC family.

Unfortunately even is such a great family of churches as Calvary Chapel- errors of teaching are slipping in and as far as I know this is how CC deals with such eventualities. Pastor Chuck of course prays for his son to return to the sound teachings that he grew up with and longs to welcome him back to the CC fold.

Thankfully the vast majority of Calvary Chapels offer incredibly sound verse by verse ex positional teaching on the word. Generally going through the Bible in order at The Packing House (Calvary Chapel Redlands CA) we are going through the Book of Acts on Sat. Night/ Sunday morning. Sunday evening we are going through another Bible book from the N.T. a chapter at a time under a different pastor…who also prepares a message from Wed. night from the Old Testament book in which we’re studying, again a chapter at a time. All of this study is verse by verse- in context- using exposition/Inductive Bible Study methods.

It’s quite possibly the best set of Bible teachers I’ve been under.

I hope this answers your question at least a little bit, I plan to research things out and possibly do a post for the blog if that’s where the Lord leads.

        God Bless.

      • Curious says:

You come across with wisdom in your writings and your videos. They have been a blessing thus far.

      • rossbondreturns says:

        Thanks so much Curious.

It take God’s Word very seriously.

The Word makes it clear that those that teach need to be very careful with what they say/show since they have a greater accountability.

When I share a post or a video a lot of time could have past since the previous one. This is because I am very careful to follow the leading of the Holy Spirit not only about the topics to discuss in post or video…but how to convey the truths accurately.

Every word spoken or written is important for clarity and understanding- and I won’t finalize a post or video until I’m certain through the Spirit that’s it’s ready.

The outreach and faith sharing I do here is different also than any street ministry and sharing that I do. There needs to be a sometimes exhaustive depth to cover all aspects of a topic, because I’m not talking to folks like yourself face to face what I’m conveying to you needs to be full and clear.

I hope my future articles/videos and any past articles in the archives that you haven’t read yet continue to be a blessing. It’s a pleasure to be an Ambassador for Christ no matter how stressful it can also often be, and I hope to see you in Heaven then we can talk face to face.

        Thanks again.

        All Glory to God.

      • Curious says:

I was going to ask you why the great lapse in time between posts but you answered it. It comforting to know that you feel lead to post something instead of just putting things out there because you have a platform. I was reading one of your posts about the Tribulation (I forgot if it was this blog or the other one I apologize) and I wanted clarification on the difference between Pre and Post Tribulation. Thanks again for the wisdom and blessing.

      • rossbondreturns says:

        Thanks for your comment Curious.

There’s really quite a lot to talk about when discussing the differences in Pre/Post Tribulation Outlooks and I think it’s a full post waiting to happen- and not waiting much longer.

However I’ll just make one point that I’ll bring up in more detail in the article. The believer is called to be on the Lookout for Jesus Christ returning for the Church- He promised to come back and take us to be with Him at The Father’s House (Where H’e right now preparing a place for us).

On the flip side those who believe in a Post-Tribulation Perspective on Christ’s Coming for the Church- well first they blend the Rapture and the Glorious Appearing/Second Coming. First and foremost though they tend to look for one of the next signs after the Rapture…which is the arrival of Anti-Christ.

The Pre-Tribulation Believer looks for Christ to call the Bride home as Promised in John 14:1-3. That’s the event I’m waiting for with eagerness and anticipation.

The Post-Tribulation Believer is looking for The Anti-Christ to appear on the scene because they believe that Revelation 3:10 means that Believers will be kept safe by God through the Tribulation.

However in the original Greek the wording is “keep you out of” ek- exit- He promises to take His bride home. Gives us the promised emergency (ek)xit.

The believer is not under Judgment, no longer under the Wrath of God. And the first seal of the scroll in Revelation which allows the Anti-Christ to arrive on the world scene is opened by Jesus Christ- God Incarnate. And the remainder of the Seals-Trumpet’s and Bowls all continue on from the opening of the frst seal by Christ.

Wow…would you look at that. I went on into way more detail than I’d planned.

It’s just a start though I will write a full article on it for all to consider.

        God Bless.

      • Curious says:

Very insightful. I stay away from the prophecy books only because I have no understanding of the types and shadows that are entwined through them. I look forward to that post. I guess I always thought that the Anti-Christ would arrive on scene before anything happened, as a precursor to Gods ultimate plan. It’s interesting how media and other teachings can influence those who aren’t familiar with such things (namely me). Do you believe the AC is alive now?

      • rossbondreturns says:

As to your question is the AC alive now. I’d say the answer is probably.

One of my favorite things to say about the times we’re in is this-

There are so many signs right now that point towards the Time of Tribulation (Time of Jacob’s Trouble) how much closer than must we be to the Rapture of the Church.

Recently we went through the Halloween/Thanksgiving/Christmas interchange at stores. While it was still October…stuff was being placed out for Thanksgiving…in fact near me when it was like the day after Halloween Target put out their Christmas items!

So yeah I’d say that the A.C. is certainly alive and out there…but the next thing for the Christian is the call of Jesus Christ to come home, to the Father’s House.
