Heaven is a place on earth

The Rapture of the Church, the Bride of Christ is not new. The Rapture is not missing. The Rapture is not Secret though as you can already note it is ONLY for the Bride of Christ, those who are Born Again.

So who first taught the Rapture?

The answer to the question is Jesus Christ that’s right our Lord and Savior taught the Rapture of the Church to the remaining disciples in the upper room after Judas had left to prepare Christ’s betrayal. This is how he puts it: 1 “Your heart must not be troubled. Believe  in God; believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if not, I would have told you. I am going away to prepare a place for you. 3 If I go away and prepare a place for you, I will come back and receive you to Myself, so that where I am you may be also. John 14:1-3 Holman Christian Standard Bible Many people would go and where’s the Rapture in that? It is in verse 3, and these 3 verses all deal with Jewish Marriage Customs Please find out more here before you continue.

As you can see if you read that carefully it goes into everything that the disciples would’ve been thinking when Jesus mentioned adding on to His Father’s House and coming back to call them representatives of (the Church) to be with HIm and take them to Heaven. For a 7 year Marriage Supper after the Judgment Seat of Christ. At the end we return with Christ at the Glorious Appearing.

Who else taught the Rapture?

Jesus (again) through direct Revelation to Paul who wrote it down accurately for us through the guidance of the Holy Spirit. Let’s take a look at that passage: 13 We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, concerning those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve like the rest, who have no hope. 14 Since we believe that Jesus died and rose again, in the same way God will bring with Him those who have fallen asleep through Jesus. 15 For we say this to you by a revelation from the Lord: We who are still alive at the Lord’s coming will certainly have no advantage over those who have fallen asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the archangel’s voice, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are still alive will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air; and so we will always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words. 1st Thess. 4-14-17

In verse 14 God brings the Spirits of those who’ve fallen asleep in Jesus in other words the Spirits of Believers.

In verse 15 Paul says to all the readers including us that this Revelation is DIRECTLY from the Lord. Jesus descends with a shout, the voice of the Archangel and the Trumpet call of God…boy does that sound loud! Except it isn’t for most people. Because most people the vast majority are not God’s Children and only The Sheep hear the Shepherds voice.

1 ” I assure you: Anyone who doesn’t enter the sheep pen by the door but climbs in some other way, is a thief and a robber.  2The one who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep. 3 The doorkeeper opens it for him, and the sheep hear his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4When he has brought all his own outside, he goes ahead of them. The sheep follow him because they recognize his voice. 5 They will never follow a stranger; instead they will run away from him, because they don’t recognize the voice of strangers.” John 10:1-5

25 “I did tell you and you don’t believe,” Jesus answered them.”The works that I do in My Father’s name testify about Me. 26But you don’t believe because you are not My sheep.  27 My sheep hear My voice, I know them, and they follow Me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they will never perish —ever! No one will snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all. No one is able to snatch them out of the Father’s hand. 30 The Father and I are one.”   John 10:25-30 HCSB Not to mention the fact that when Paul was converted some of His traveling companions HEARD the voice of Jesus and others did NOT. Why? Because it would appear that some were believers and others were not.

Just how Fast is the Rapture?

51 Listen! I am telling you a mystery:     We will not all fall asleep, but we will all be changed,     52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet.      For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible,     and we will be changed.     53 Because this corruptible must be clothed with incorruptibility,      and this mortal must be clothed with immortality.     54 Now when this corruptible is clothed with incorruptibility,     and this mortal is clothed with immortality,     then the saying that is written will take place:     Death has been swallowed up in victory.      55 O Death, where is your victory?     O Death, where is your sting?

What is the twinkling of an eye?

It is much faster than a blink. I’ve heard the number 1/18,000th of a second bandied around but it is word behind twinkling in the passage above from which we derive our word ATOM so that should give you a fair idea of how little time the Rapture will take.

When is the Rapture?

The Rapture is imminent– which separates it distinctly from the Second Coming/Glorious Appearing. We are told to look for the Blessed Hope, for Jesus Christ coming for us not for the Antichrist. We are told to pay attention to the signs and when they START to take place look up for our redemption draweth nigh.

The Glorious Appearing/Second Coming doesn’t happen until many MANY signs, wonders, judgments, Seals, Trumpets, Bowls have happened. Christ has to come back FOR His Saints before He can come back with His saints.

Therefore the Rapture and Second Coming must be distinct and separate events.

Who goes and where do they go?

The Bride of Christ, the Church, hear the Shepherds call. The Voice of the Archangel and the Trumpet of God and they rise to meet Him in the air, gaining the Resurrection bodies enroute.

We meet in the air, and as promised He takes us to His Father’s House which is of course Our Father’s House by Adoption.

This is in Heaven.

Why a Pre-Tribulation Rapture?

There are in fact two very good reasons for a Pre-Tribulation Rapture regardless of the Jewish Marriage Analogy, and the Promise of Jesus Himself. They hinge on two other promises of Jesus.

1:We are not destined to the Wrath of God.

God in man Jesus Christ took the cup of God’s Wrath for us on the Cross, since we have been adopted into the family of God and are adopted Sons/Daughters of Christ we are not longer subject to His wrath.

10 and to wait for His Son from heaven, whom He raised from the dead—Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.

1 Thessalonians 1:10

8 But since we are of the day, we must be sober and put the armor of faith and love on our chests, and put on a helmet of the hope of salvation. 9 For God did not appoint us to wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ,  10 who died for us, so that whether we are awake or asleep, we will live together with Him.

1 Thessalonians 5:8-10

In both of these passages Paul is relating what God the Holy Spirit told him, and that is that we’re not destined for God’s Wrath but are saved from it.

And the Wrath of God begins when Jesus breaks the first Seal, everything in Revelation is precipitated by Jesus breaking that first seal so each and every bit of the troubles on the Earth in the Tribulation is from Jesus who is God the Son.

And since Jesus took us to the Father’s House…we are with Him when He opens the Seals…since we will always be where He is.

2: The Promise that Hell’s gates would NOT prevail against the Church

The Church must be raptured/caught up before the Tribulation because those who come to believe in Christ during the Tribulation will not be given divine protection and many, many, many believers will die and the hands of Satan and his demons and followers.

17 And Jesus responded, “Simon son of Jonah, you are blessed because flesh and blood did not reveal this to you, but My Father in heaven. 18 And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the forces of Hades will not overpower it.

Matthew 16:17-18

Jesus would be proven a liar, were the Church to remain on the earth beyond the start of the Tribulation. Because there will be a wholesale slaughter of new believers that come to the faith during the Tribulation.

However Jesus will take us home before the Tribulation, simply because that’s what He promised to do.

The Judgment Seat of Christ and Marriage Supper of the Lamb

These two events follow one right after another and both of them take place in Heaven both of them are also for the Bride of Christ, the Church. When a Christian dies His body returns to the dust and His Spirit returns to God who made it.

We are Spirit our Spirit is eternal, the Bible also says that we die once and after that the Judgment.

So on the day we die or on that great Rapture Day the believer will face the Judgment (Bema) Seat of Christ. This is not a Judgment of condemnation, we are already in Heaven, but of commendation. Where we will be judged on how well we have used the gifts God has given us to steward HIs believers and to share with the lost.

But each one must be careful how he builds on it, 11 because no one can lay any other foundation than what has been laid—that is, Jesus Christ. 12 If anyone builds on the foundation with gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or straw, 13 each one’s work will become obvious, for the day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire; the fire will test the quality of each one’s work. 14 If anyone’s work that he has built survives, he will receive a reward. 15 If anyone’s work is burned up, it will be lost, but he will be saved; yet it will be like an escape through fire.

1 Corinthians 3:12-15

10 For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ,  so that each may be repaid for what he has done in the body, whether good or bad.

2 Corinthians 5:10

Jesus will be the judge and He will judge justly, this is not the SDA Investigative Judgment.

We could earn crowns that we will cast down in worship at the throne of God in Heaven (Revelation 4).

Marriage Supper of the Lamb

Marriage of the Lamb Announced

6 Then I heard something like the voice of a vast multitude, like the sound of cascading waters, and like the rumbling of loud thunder, saying:

Hallelujah —because our Lord God, the Almighty,

    has begun to reign!

7 Let us be glad, rejoice, and give Him glory,

because the marriage of the Lamb has come,

and His wife has prepared herself.

8 She was permitted to wear fine linen, bright and pure.

For the fine linen represents the righteous acts of the saints.

9 Then he said to me, “Write: Blessed are those invited to the marriage feast of the Lamb!” He also said to me, “These words of God are true.” 10 Then I fell at his feet to worship him, but he said to me, “Don’t do that! I am a fellow slave with you and your brothers who have the testimony about Jesus. Worship God, because the testimony about Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.”

Revelation 19:6-10

This is announced after a celebration in Heaven by all the Church, the Bride, who has now been presented and is dressed in pure white light. And moments later this whole entourage the Bride, Angels, Heavenly Host follow Jesus OUT OF HEAVEN to go back to the earth.

The Rider on a White Horse

11 Then I saw heaven opened, and there was a white horse! Its rider is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and makes war. 12 His eyes were like a fiery flame, and on His head were many crowns. He had a name written that no one knows except Himself. 13 He wore a robe stained with blood, and His name is called the Word of God. 14 The armies that were in heaven followed Him on white horses, wearing pure white linen. 15 From His mouth came a sharp sword, so that with it He might strike the nations. He will shepherd them with an iron scepter. He will also trample the winepress of the fierce anger of God, the Almighty. 16 And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written:

Revelation 19:11-16

This of course points to the only logical conclusion that since we’re the italicized people above, we have to have been in Heaven since…well BEFORE the Tribulation began.

The Rapture in Revelation 4:1

1 After this I looked, and there in heaven was an open door. The first voice that I had heard speaking to me like a trumpet said, “Come up here, and I will show you what must take place after this.” Revelation 4:1

After this in the Greek is meta tauta which means after this. You’ll notice that Revelation 4:1 begins and ends with the words after this, meta tauta.

So what John is saying is that After this (This being the things of the Church/Church Age) he looked to Heaven and saw an open door and the first voice (the voice of Christ) said “Come up here and I will show you what must take place after this (after the Rapture).”

What event takes place after the Church age but before the Tribulation?

The Rapture.
