Trust in Times of Trouble

Psalms Chapter 11

1 A David psalm

I’ve already run for dear life straight to the arms of GOD. So why would I run away now when you say, “Run to the mountains; 2 the evil bows are bent, the wicked arrows Aimed to shoot under cover of darkness at every heart open to God. 3 The bottom’s dropped out of the country; good people don’t have a chance”? 4 But GOD hasn’t moved to the mountains; his holy address hasn’t changed. He’s in charge, as always, his eyes taking everything in, his eyelids Unblinking, examining Adam’s unruly brood inside and out, not missing a thing. 5 He tests the good and the bad alike; if anyone cheats, God’s outraged. 6 Fail the test and you’re out, out in a hail of firestones, Drinking from a canteen filled with hot desert wind. 7 GOD’s business is putting things right; he loves getting the lines straight, Setting us straight. Once we’re standing tall, we can look him straight in the eye.
Psalms 11:1-7 (MSG)

Welcome to Now

As a Christian the words of this Psalm seem to be eerily accurate of this day and age. We’ve found safety in the Lord; we’ve found Salvation through His shed blood just as anyone can. When you have the Holy Spirit living in you fear is something that you should not have, at least not towards those who can only kill the body. Remember that once you chose God you found out He had already chosen you, your eternal life is secure. Every day you should be drawn closer into a relationship with the Lord that will last eternally, and He calls you to begin that search now.

The World, all those that do not know the Lord, want nothing to do with Christians. It can be seen in the things they say and the things they do, and in the hurt they cause. There can be times when it seems as if everyone is against us; we must remember that Christianity is in fact the minority stance on Earth. It should not surprise us that the Devil has turned sin into fun and fine, that killing babies is a choice that is smiled upon, and that Homosexuality has exploded upon the world.

There is something much worse than the Oil Slick from the Deepwater Horizon, and that is the saturation of Sin in every nook and cranny of this planet. We see the beauty of this world, but God sees that it is almost full of inky blackness. Earth is a planet of failure with only the smallest percentage realizing the truth and finding the cure that is sure.

We as Christians are assured of eternal protection through God’s grace, and we live in the Gift of Eternal life. We HAVE eternal life now; we need to always find ourselves in communion with our Lord and Savior.

There are a great number of people on this Earth who just wish that these Christians would be gone, that there were no Christians on this Earth would suit them just fine. They persecute the children of God. Christians in every town and city of this world are being persecuted, hurt, tortured and killed for their beliefs. And as the remaining time for those on the Earth gets shorter such persecution will only get worse.

For some Christians it becomes so much that they call out, pleading, wondering if God is even out there still watching. This isn’t because they have given up on God, it’s because things seems so bad that there’s no possible way this could be part of His plan.

Welcome to Now Again

God is Sovereign.

Never forget that God is always there seated on His Throne in Heaven, His eyes are taking in all of creation. He knows exactly what is going on in everyone’s hearts, He knows with certainty exactly where we stand. There is no doubt in His knowledge and the judgment He imparts from the consideration of that judgment. He knows what time it is in the grand scheme of things, He knows that very soon He will send His Son to return to the skies above the Earth, so that He can call His Bride, the Christians far and wide to be with Him.

We will be taken to Heaven to the Fathers House and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Welcome to the Now a Third Time

We must remember that the Lord tests everyone; He wants to refine each and every Christian and make sure that their faith is strong. He wants to know that our trust in Him is certain and it is not based on how well things are going.

The Gospel is not one of prosperity, it is one of sacrifice.
The Gospel is not one of ease, it is one of hardship.
The Gospel is not one of works, it is one of grace.

God never promised a Christian life would be easy, that’s why He lives IN us to help us through the storms of life. You don’t repent and accept Christ to look good or have it easier, you accept Christ because if you don’t you’ll go to Hell.

God promises the Christian Eternal life, but He also makes it clear that our life on Earth will not be easy. The troubles we face as Christians are designed to drive us into a deeper relationship with our Lord and Savior. He wants our relationship to be one of trust and reliance upon God to direct our paths; He wants us to come to a point where we can trust Him in everything.

God knows what is best for His children, it’s about time we let Go and trusted our Creator and King. For He will save us from the wrath to come and preserve us eternally.

In Christ,

Ross
