Well imagine my surprise when I went shopping at Salvation Army today for new cheap books for my B.E.A.R. Project satchel.

I found a copy of The Five Judgments The Five Crowns by Louis T. Talbot (1889-1976)

I haven’t read this wonderful booklet yet but it is already a treasured part of my collection, not to mention a permanent resident of my satchel.

It’s also cool that it’s full of notes and even more verses to look up from its previous owner(s).

In Christ,

Free! Free! Free!

13 For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.
1 Cor 12:13 (KJV)

The Dream

This morning I woke up and spent a few moments praying with my Lord and Savior, I also plugged in my speakers to my MP3 player. Firing it up I pushed play and it continued going into the next teaching of Romans and at some point in time I fell asleep. There was nothing deep about this sleep but the dream I’m had I’m certainly not going to give it back.

The dream started off with its normal weirdness, the kind of dream where you wake up and wonder just what was the start of that dream about. I mean it was daily life meets Dr. Seuss. Watching football on TV, fighting with water guns full of milk, eating cheese hats, you know typical weird dream stuff.

However it took a change when I noticed one of the participants in the dream knock over a cup of grape juice (Welch’s perhaps) on the white tablecloth. At that very moment the entire dream froze around me and I found myself outside.

When I finally cut free of Seventh Day Adventism is was unfortunately with a rather angry and frustrated view. So much about Adventism had torn my family apart as far as I was concerned, the incident in Northern Ireland was especially painful for me.

Why are you throwing my dad under the bus? He was doing his job…he was doing things well? Is flowers and I’m sorry really the best you can do?!

And then a later incident at PSR which I will not go into in great detail totally soured myself to Adventism.

My future wife just came out to back us up for the weekend…you asked her to come…and you can’t pay her why?!

The Bible Runner is Expanding!

Well I’m, to be very honest not amazed about how the Lord has blessed TBR because I had given it all over to Him when I started it just over a year ago. This is a Ministry to help people find freedom in Christ Jesus, and to experience the revolution that the Holy Spirit brings. That is not going to change in the slightest as a Former Adventist I feel as if I can’t help but share my new found faith, the Holy Spirit just won’t be quiet. Sometimes I feel like a born again Energizer Bunny…*Thump Thump Thump* I just keep sharing and sharing and sharing! *Spins Drumsticks* *Thump Thump Thump*

This is something I love to do, I’ve never been a Pastor in the traditional sense and I’m not sure I ever will be. However I have shared my faith and love of Jesus online through both Preaching the Word in and the blog you are reading now. Rest assured I’m not about to stop now; in fact I’m looking to expand.

Danger and Justice

2Pe 2:1 False prophets were among God’s people in the past, as false teachers will be among you. They will secretly bring in their own destructive teachings. They will deny the Lord, who has bought them, and they will bring themselves swift destruction.

2 Many people will follow them in their sexual freedom and will cause others to dishonor the way of truth.

3 In their greed they will use good-sounding arguments to exploit you. The verdict against them from long ago is still in force, and their destruction is not asleep.

4 God didn’t spare angels who sinned. He threw them into hell, where he has secured them with chains of darkness and is holding them for judgment.

5 God didn’t spare the ancient world either. He brought the flood on the world of ungodly people, but he protected Noah and seven other people. Noah was his messenger who told people about the kind of life that has God’s approval.

6 God condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah and destroyed them by burning them to ashes. He made those cities an example to ungodly people of what is going to happen to them.

7 Yet, God rescued Lot, a man who had his approval. Lot was distressed by the lifestyle of people who had no principles and lived in sexual freedom.

8 Although he was a man who had God’s approval, he lived among the people of Sodom and Gomorrah. Each day was like torture to him as he saw and heard the immoral things that people did.

9 Since the Lord did all this, he knows how to rescue godly people when they are tested. He also knows how to hold immoral people for punishment on the day of judgment.

10 This is especially true of those who follow their corrupt nature along the path of impure desires and who despise the Lord’s authority. These false teachers are bold and arrogant. They aren’t afraid to insult the Lord’s glory.

There is Danger

Although this country was founded on Christian beliefs it should not come as a surprise that such things are now forgotten. That the Christianity that was laid at the foundation of this nation has over the years, been jack hammered by all kinds of groups, mostly in the name of equality, or the rights of the individual. It shouldn’t be a surprise that the Christian Morals have been judged to be divisive to the growth of this great country. It was only a matter of time before satisfying everyone ushered in a new morality, morals set by people who no longer lay claim to In God We Trust.

I just wanted to point out two new pages on the website for a pair of projects called Afterwords and B.E.A.R..

Both are projects that will enable the believer to share their faith even after they’ve gone to be with Christ and as such really appealed to me.

Psalm 139

1. LORD, you have examined me closely and you know me deeply.

2. You know whatever I do; from heaven above you understand every one of my thoughts.

3. You always watch me, whether I am working or resting; you know all that I do.

4. Before I get a word out you know what I will say.

5. You surround me; you protect me with your power.

6. Your knowledge of me is so very deep; it is beyond my ability to comprehend.

7. Where could I go to leave you in the dust? Where could I hide from your awareness?

8. If I were to go up to heaven, I would find you there; if I were to rest in the world of the dead, I would find you waiting for me.

9. If I could fly away on massive wings to a place in the farthest east or made my home in the farthest place in the west,

10. you would be there to guide me, you would be there to counsel me.

11. I could beg the darkness to hide me or the light around me to turn into deepest night,

12. but even darkness is not dark for you, and the night is as luminous as the day. Darkness and light are equal to you.

13. You lovingly created every part of me; you carefully put me together in my mother’s womb.

14: I praise you because you are to be feared; all you do is beyond imagination. I know it with all my heart.

15. When my bones were being made, carefully placed together in my mother’s womb, when I was growing there in secret, you knew that I was there—

16. you saw me before I saw the light of day. The days set aside for me had all been recorded in your book, before any of them had been imagined.

17. My God, how perplexing I find your thoughts; there are so very many of them!

18. If I took the time to count them, they would be more than the grains of sand. When I awake, I am with you still.

19. My God, how I wish you would kill those who do evil! How I wish violent people would simply leave me alone!

20. They say vile things about you; they curse your name constantly.

21. My LORD, how I hate those who hate you! How I despise those who continually rebel against you!

22. I hate them with complete hatred; I see them as my enemies.

23. Examine me, My God, and know my mind; test me, and examine my thoughts.

24. Find out if evil is in me and guide me in the way eternal.
My Paraphrase

After their kind…

For a long time people just couldn’t accept that the Chicken came before the egg, after all chicks come from eggs right?

Sure, but where the heck did the egg come from?

The final answer can in fact be found in Genesis after all.

24(AC)Then God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures after their kind: cattle and creeping things and beasts of the earth after their kind”; and it was so.

25God made the (AD)beasts of the earth after their kind, and the cattle after their kind, and everything that creeps on the ground after its kind; and God saw that it was good.

Genesis 1: 24-25

Come Now while the Night is Dark

John 3:1 Now there was a man of the Pharisees named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews.
John 3:2 This man came to Jesus by night and said to him, “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher come from God, for no one can do these signs that you do unless God is with him.”
John 3:3 Jesus answered him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
John 3:4 Nicodemus said to him, “How can a man be born when he is old? Can he enter a second time into his mother’s womb and be born?”
John 3:5 Jesus answered, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God.
John 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
John 3:7 Do not marvel that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’
John 3:8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”
John 3:9 Nicodemus said to him, “How can these things be?”
John 3:10 Jesus answered him, “Are you the teacher of Israel and yet you do not understand these things?
John 3:11 Truly, truly, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and bear witness to what we have seen, but you do not receive our testimony.
John 3:12 If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how can you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
John 3:13 No one has ascended into heaven except he who descended from heaven, the Son of Man.
John 3:14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
John 3:15 that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.
John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
John 3:17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
John 3:18 Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God.
John 3:19 And this is the judgment: the light has come into the world, and people loved the darkness rather than the light because their works were evil.
John 3:20 For everyone who does wicked things hates the light and does not come to the light, lest his works should be exposed.
John 3:21 But whoever does what is true comes to the light, so that it may be clearly seen that his works have been carried out in God.”

John 3: 1-21

This is a pretty long section to break down but I really don’t think that tackling it any other way is appropriate. However I think you’ll find that while the breakdown may be long it will feed you spiritually and bring you to a deeper understanding of Salvation. Oh and you’ll get a look at the sense of humor that Jesus had which comes through in a number of verses in this passage.

Oprah is NOT a Christian: Looking at The Dangers of False Teachings

Scripture of the Day

1Ti 4:1 God’s Spirit clearly says that in the last days many people will turn from their faith. They will be fooled by evil spirits and by teachings that come from demons.

1st Timothy 4:1

As Revealed in the Bible

As Revealed in the Bible

The spread of false doctrine like a suffocating oil slick of darkness was prophesied many many years ago. As usual everything goes back to the fall of Lucifer, Adam’s sin, and the all about me attitude. Because of this humans have spent the better part of their collective time on earth eliminating God and elevating man. We live in a day and age where those in charge espouse relaxed morals, and those in charge have allowed Lucifer to cloud their minds and come up with their own rules, their own set of beliefs.

These people would share their beliefs; they would proclaim them on television and in seminars, anywhere their false teachings would be heard. Generally these teachings are accepted over the Bible because they offer

    another way to God.

These teachers seek to give people the power; they turn God into something manly and man into something Godly.

As I share the following quotes from Oprah (and guests) with you, you’ll notice that the saddest thing is that she used to have the truth. This just goes to show that these false teachings appeal so much to the natural wants and inclinations of humanity that it is as if they were packaged for prideful sinners. I believe they were.
