Running the Race: Staying on Track

Lane Violation

Psa 119:105 Your word is a lamp to guide me and a light for my path.
Psa 119:106 I will keep my solemn promise to obey your just instructions.

Psalms 119: 105-106

The Rules of the Race

The Track and Field athletes know the rules of their sport. They know just how tough and strict the new False Start rule is (and we’ll discuss it fully eventually), they know about having to stay relaxed to reach maximum speed. They have their starting blocks set up exactly how they like it each time so they can drive out of the ready position. They also know that they have to stay in their assigned lanes especially in the shorter sprints, and at the start of races up to 800 meters.

There are plenty of good reasons to stay in your lane the most obvious being that it’s the one you were assigned to run in, and moving into a more inside lane though making the race shorter would result in disqualification. It also increases the chance of interference between runners and the possibility of tripping, falls and collisions. If someone ever were to pull a muscle in front of you you’d be very glad they kept to their assigned lane.

On the sprints you keep in your lane it’s as simple as that.

Though this is only preliminary artwork for a (for now) one off T-Shirt I thought I’d share it with you guys. I drew it last night with pen, I skip that pencil it first way of doing things. (In other words I had no pencil on hand.)

My artwork drawn late last night.

I’ll update with pictures of the final shirt later.

I wrote these lyrics this morning it’s a Praise song about joining in praise with all the other Christian believers in Heaven after the Rapture of the Church.

Before the Throne (2010)

When will you take us away to the place of never ending day?
It must be soon when you’ll come to take us home with you.
And I can’t wait to see the face of my God and King.
The one who took upon Himself my Suffering.
And with the Saints of ages our praise will ring.

Chorus

Before the Throne, in our eternal home with angels all around.
We’ll all sing praise, to the ancient of days love will abound.
For His right hand was mighty and strong.
It brought us up to where we all belong.
Before the throne.

I’m so weary how much longer will you have to hold me up?
Sometimes eternal promise doesn’t seem enough.
The storms of this life they roil and rage.
Yet you are strong Lord and you never change.
And you promised to keep us till the end of the Age.

Chorus

Before the Throne, in our eternal home with angels all around.
We’ll all sing praise, to the ancient of days love will abound.
For His right hand was mighty and strong.
It brought us up to where we all belong.
Before the throne.

Hallelujah! Mighty Savior!
Alpha and Omega, The Great I Am!

Prince of Peace! King of Kings!
Through Heavenly halls Salvation rings!

Chorus

Before the Throne, in our eternal home with angels all around.
We’ll all sing praise, to the ancient of days love will abound.
For His right hand was mighty and strong.
It brought us up to where we all belong.
Before the throne.

In Christ,

Ross

A Most Uncommon Love

Psa 103:10 He does not punish us as we deserve or repay us according to our sins and wrongs.
Psa 103:11 As high as the sky is above the earth, so great is his love for those who honor him.
Psa 103:12 As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our sins from us.

A Double Sided Promise

This promise can be claimed by anyone who is a believer in Christ Jesus and who has accepted the Gift of eternal life by Grace through faith. It is a picture of God’s endless love for His last act of creation, humanity. In these three verses you can see before you make the choice what’s waiting for you on the other side if you will. Let’s check out not only the positive side of each verse and the alternate negative reversal of the same verse. We’ll label the two responses Sinner and Saved.

In God We Trust

“…Consider Christianity’s beginnings: Few were around to hear Jesus’ preaching’s, far fewer still claimed to have witnessed the Resurrection; the faith spreads nevertheless. How, a few centuries later, its sublime and bighearted message would be ignored and countless people be terrorized by its name, is baffling. What’s happening in America today, the growing number of hate-filled, amped-up fanatics who claim they have the God given right to define their nation and impose their fundamentalist vision on all of its citizens and, ultimately, on the rest of the planet is no less baffling- or dangerous, all the more so with their collective death wish regarding the supposedly approaching End of Days.” Raymond Khoury (Authors Note: The Sign)

The Sign

The Sign is an exciting, action packed thrill ride of a novel that is also smart as a whip and full of fascinating ideas. This should not come as a surprise because the author/screenwriter Raymond Khoury has chosen to tackle an interesting and explosive topic the conflagration that is the joining of Religion and Politics. It is a good entertainment, what I would term a novel of faction, in other words fiction that is probably already fact (in fact a number of the technologies represented in the novel already exist in some form.)

The Sun
Silent Sun?

Original Article from New Scientist.

Is the Sun about to usher in a new Ice Age by 2015, the article above states that such a possibility exists. However it makes one wonder is the Soveriegn Creator of all things AKA…God isn’t about ready to become supernaturally involved with the goings on on this world once again.

Where Christ is, there is the Church

There is a serious problem within Christianity today that began in the past and will continue into the future. This problem is that for reasons of pride multitudes of denominations have risen up claiming to be the only correct way to eternal life with Christ. The truth is that Satan uses Religion to his advantage; he does everything he can to cause differences of opinion and splits in the Church through religion and the fragmentary nature of different denominations.

Christ should be the Cornerstone

What needs to be understood is that Christ is the Cornerstone on which the Church was and must be continued to be built. Too many Churches are based on opinions and feelings, and human ones at that, and such teaching is dangerous.

By placing Christ as the cornerstone in your personal beliefs you will be able to notice when a church is failing to do so. If a church doesn’t put Christ and his teachings as its cornerstone it’s not somewhere that you want to be. A church, whose abiding reason for being isn’t fortified by Jesus Christ, is simply another fortress for Satan and his followers. And lest we forget Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light, that’s exactly how he makes it seem as if any church is based on a firm foundation even if it’s built on shifting sand.

This morning before I made my way to the library I made a dry run, a walk to the house of a couple from the local church I am going to be helping in the near future. I wanted to be certain of where their house was, how long it would take me to walk there, and of course to be sure I was heading inthe right direction.

Consequently I now know that I have to leave earlier than I had first thought, but I did know where the house was. It is because I took the time to do a dry run of the route that I can be more confident and knowledgeable for when I really have to do it.

Judges: 3:16 But Ehud made himself a dagger, which had two edges, a cubit long. And he tied it under his clothing upon his right thigh.

The situation is this; the Israelites have messed up, again. Not shocking at all really is it in fact by now it’s par for the course. They say oh yes Lord we’ll follow what you say no doubt about it. However soon enough there is doubt about it, oh these are nice cups and plates, oh these people aren’t that bad. And because they didn’t do exactly as the Lord asked them to do, he’s letting them get routed, beaten and ruled over by the very people they were supposed to have routed themselves.

The Apostles Creed

1Co 15:1 Now I would remind you, brothers, of the gospel I preached to you, which you received, in which you stand, and by which you are being saved, if you hold fast to the word I preached to you–unless you believed in vain. For I delivered to you as of first importance what I also received: that Christ died for our sins in accordance with the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures, and that he appeared to Cephas, then to the twelve. Then he appeared to more than five hundred brothers at one time, most of whom are still alive, though some have fallen asleep. Then he appeared to James, then to all the apostles. Last of all, as to one untimely born, he appeared also to me.

1 Corinthians 15: 1-8

The above is the Gospel in its most pure form; it is the earliest statement of the Christian faith and the ultimate truths of what we believe. The most powerful thing about this statement is that it’s written by a person who prior to a life-changing encounter on the road to Damascus was a Zealot who persecuted Christians. He was in fact one of the greatest persecutors of his time his name was Saul of Tarsus and now it is Paul.
