Jesus Himself Taught a Pre-Tribulation Rapture

“Soon Son, very very soon.”

Jesus Taught the Pre-Tribulation Rapture

I’m quite certain the title of my post grabbed everyone’s attention and it was meant to, you see it is very important that people realize that the Pre-Tribulation Rapture is a proper teaching. So many people have claimed it’s a recent thing especially those who for some unknown reason want to go through the Tribulation period itself. However Jesus himself, God the Son, taught a Pre-Tribulation Rapture of his Bride, the Church. And not only does He teach it he teaches it twice and we’re going to look at the two places right now.

First of all we are going to look at His second teaching and then we’ll look at His first to expound upon His second. The second time that Jesus mentions the Pre-Tribulation Rapture of the Church is in the book of Revelation. Some people forget that the book of Revelation is the Revelation of Jesus Christ, sent via and angelic Messenger to John while he was on the Isle of Patmos. Revelation 3:10 is below and it seems to be very straight forward, however some people seem to stumble over it anyway so I’ll expound upon it below.

10 ‘Because you have kept the word of My perseverance, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, that hour which is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

Rev 3:10 (NASB)

This is to the Church of Philadelphia the believing church; this is representative today of the entire church of believers in Jesus Christ. Those people who are born again and have been sealed by the Holy Spirit, who have Christ living in them. They have kept His word, and His truth, and all of His knowledge when other churches have not. They have kept His word through perseverance when the other churches have not.

He promises right here to keep them from the hour of testing, to keep the Church from the hour of testing, to keep His Bride from the hour of testing.

He then states that this hour of testing is about to come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.

Just to be perfectly clear so there is no confusion Jesus is saying that He’s going to keep them from, which better translated means to be removed to another place. In other words the Church, His Bride is going to be removed from the earth PRIOR to the hour of testing that is going to come to test those who dwell on the earth.

The Church is the Bride of Christ; the Bible says we have NOT been appointed to Wrath.

So we are preserved at a time that is concurrent with the time of testing otherwise known as Tribulation at a location of safety, which is The Father’s House, which is in Heaven.

1 “Do not let your heart be troubled; believe in God, believe also in Me.2 “In My Father’s house are many dwelling places; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you.3 “If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself, that where I am, there you may be also.4 “And you know the way where I am going.”5 Thomas said* to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, how do we know the way?”6 Jesus said* to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father but through Me.”

John 14:1-6 (NASB)

In the above passage Jesus is talking to the 12 Disciples it’s a really beautiful prophecy which I’m going to paraphrase and break down simply so we can get it’s entire meaning clearly. To put things in perspective the Disciples are spiritually shaken up you know they’ve had the huge high of the Triumphal Entry, and they were expecting a conquering King. Yet not long after that Jesus publicly announces His upcoming death.

He’s basically soothing them: “Look fellows I know you’re deeply disturbed, but don’t be so shaken up, I know you Believe in God, so believe in Me as much as you believe in Him.”

It is actually even strong than that because Jesus knows the disciples believe in Him, but He is encouraging them to continue in steadfast trust in Him.

He continues: “In my Father’s House are many abodes, you know this to be true for I would not lie to you. I am going so that I can prepare a place for you…”

He encourages them by telling the disciples that His Father’s House has many dwelling places, or abodes, and assures them that he wouldn’t tell them this if it wasn’t true. Then he tells them He’s going there in part to prepare a place specifically for them so they could have a forever reunion together.

He continues: “…Since I’m going to prepare a place for you I will return here to get you, that way we will always be together.”

The Father’s House is another way of saying Heaven, as I’ve mentioned in the past in a Jewish wedding the Bride is always waiting expectantly for the Groom to come and whisk her off to His Father’s House.

Right now Jesus is up in Heaven and He’s personally building on ROOMS or Abodes to His Father’s House in anticipation of coming back for His Bride, the Church.

He expects to have plenty of people as part of the Bride because the Bible tells us just how big the New Jerusalem (The Capital City in Heaven) is:

 The New Jerusalem

10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain, and showed me the holy city, Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God,11 having the glory of God. Her brilliance was like a very costly stone, as a stone of crystal-clear jasper.12 It had a great and high wall, with twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels; and names were written on them, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the sons of Israel.13 There were three gates on the east and three gates on the north and three gates on the south and three gates on the west.14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundation stones, and on them were the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.15 The one who spoke with me had a gold measuring rod to measure the city, and its gates and its wall.16 The city is laid out as a square, and its length is as great as the width; and he measured the city with the rod , fifteen hundred miles; its length and width and height are equal.17 And he measured its wall, seventy -two yards, according to human measurements , which are also angelic measurements.18 The material of the wall was jasper; and the city was pure gold, like clear glass.19 The foundation stones of the city wall were adorned with every kind of precious stone. The first foundation stone was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, chalcedony; the fourth, emerald;20 the fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, topaz; the tenth, chrysoprase; the eleventh, jacinth; the twelfth, amethyst.21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls; each one of the gates was a single pearl. And the street of the city was pure gold, like transparent glass.22 I saw no temple in it, for the Lord God the Almighty and the Lamb are its temple .23 And the city has no need of the sun or of the moon to shine on it, for the glory of God has illumined it, and its lamp is the Lamb.24 The nations will walk by its light, and the kings of the earth will bring their glory into it.25 In the daytime (for there will be no night there) its gates will never be closed;26 and they will bring the glory and the honor of the nations into it;27 and nothing unclean, and no one who practices abomination and lying, shall ever come into it, but only those whose names are written in the Lamb’s book of life.

Rev 21:10-27 (NASB)

To put those dimensions in perspective:

It’s a massive cube shaped city that would stretch from Canada to the Gulf of Mexico, North to South! And from Colorado to the Atlantic Ocean from East to West!

Henry M. Morris also calculated the kind of space we might be getting in our Abode in his book The Revelation Record:

Based on certain assumptions about the design of the city and the number of the redeemed who will live in it, Morris calculates that each person’s “cube” would be approximately seventy-five acres on each side (The Revelation Record, 451). —MacArthur New Testament Commentary, The

Since we all have Resurrection bodies it’ll be a snap to move around also, I’d also note that while some think the New Jerusalem could be Pyramid shape in nature they Pyramid is a Pagan symbol so I think the Cube is most likely.

The point of the matter is God is there in Heaven right NOW adding on Abodes to this massive city, and He’s when God the Father tell Him it’s time He’s going to come and snatch us, His Church out of the Earth before the Tribulation.

In doing this He’s going to take us to His Father’s House, which is in Heaven.

He doesn’t say I’m going to beat on my Bride for Seven years and then Rapture her up and then right back down like a kid playing with a yo-yo.

He DOES say I’m taking you to be with me in my Father’s House. And during those Years up there we’re going to take part in the Bema Seat of Christ where we will get our works judged by fire, and receive our crowns. And we will partake in the Marriage Supper of the Lamb. And not long after that we are going to appear with all the hosts of Heaven at the Glorious Appearing!

The Coming of Christ

11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.12 His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself.13 He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God.14 And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses.15 From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty.16 And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”17 Then I saw an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice, saying to all the birds which fly in midheaven, “Come, assemble for the great supper of God,18 so that you may eat the flesh of kings and the flesh of commanders and the flesh of mighty men and the flesh of horses and of those who sit on them and the flesh of all men, both free men and slaves, and small and great.”19 And I saw the beast and the kings of the earth and their armies assembled to make war against Him who sat on the horse and against His army.

Rev 19:11-20 (NASB)

Verse 14 is the Bride, the Church, dressed in the fine white linen of Christ’s Purity and forgiveness. For we are finally married to our Lord forever and ever!

In Conclusion

God calls us to always be ready, and as members of the Church sealed by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and studiers of His Word we can’t help be ready. His Return is Imminent; there are no more signs that need to be fulfilled.

Right now you can think of Jesus as He’s putting the finishing touches on the final abodes, looking up to God and asking, “Is it time yet, I want to bring my Bride Home.”

And God says, “Soon Son, very very soon.”

Maranatha! (Our Lord, Come!)

In Christ,

Ross
