Not a Sinner to God

…to the church of God that is at Corinth, to those that have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours…” 1 Corinthians 1:2 (NASB) Emphasis Mine

There is no lie more detrimental to a Christians walk in Christ especially in the early days than Satan insisting that though you have Christ, you’re a sinner. It’s dangerous simply because by it causes you to focus on your sinful nature (which you no longer are a slave to) see Ephesians 5:8. However so many Christians are not aware of the regeneration that’s going on inside, they’re told sure you have eternal life but you still have your old sin nature. This lie causes you to live like a sinner because you don’t realize that everything’s changed, it’s truly like night and day. If you know the truth instead of wondering if you’ve messed things up and lost eternity you can witness to others with the assurance that you’re saved. This lie is almost as bad as Satan’s worst which I believe is; don’t worry there’s no need to hurry. There’s plenty of time to choose God…if you like rules.

The Truth is that His return is imminent and that God no longer sees you as a sinner once you are saved. In fact in 1st Cor. 1:2 He through the Apostle Paul refers to Christians as “…saints by calling…” In other words He called to us while we were sinners, we came to Him, and by accepting Him we became Saints.

God sees us as Saints, because we are in Christ and Christ is in us.

God sees us through the sacrifice of His only begotten Son; we come face to face with God through the sacrifice of the Son.

We see God’s glory through the Son, and God sees us as glorious through His Son.

We are seen as perfect because the Son was perfect.

Once you became a Saint, a Son of God, a Christian the following list of attributes applies to you, every moment of every day.

You Are.

The Salt of the earth. (Matt. 5:13)
The light of the world. (Matt 5:14)

A

    heir

of God and a Son of God. (Gal. 4: 6-7)
A Saint. (Eph. 1:1, 1 Cor. 1:2, Phil. 1:1, Col. 1:2)

A fellow citizen with the rest of God’s family. (Eph. 2:19)
A prisoner of Christ. (Eph 3:1, 4:1)

An expression of the life of Christ because He is my life. (Col 3:4)
Chosen of God, Holy and dearly loved. (Col. 3:12 1 Thess. 1:4)

A Holy partaker of Heavenly calling. (Heb 3:1)
A partaker of Christ, I share His life. (Heb 3:14)

I am born of God, and the evil one, Satan, cannot touch me. (1 John 5:18)
I am

    NOT

the Great “I Am” (Ex 3:14, John 8: 24, 28. 58)

    BUT

by the Grace of God I am what I am. (1 Cor. 15:10)

Go ahead, look over that list, print it out and carry it with you. Do whatever you need to do to remember these truths, because they won’t change. An since you know these truths you will find yourself building an even stronger relationship between yourself and God.

It makes Satan’s lie seem insignificant doesn’t it, it should no longer be this great stumbling block. And not only should it not be a stumbling block for ourselves but it should make our relationships with other Christians, from our denomination or not much stronger. We need to treat other Christians the way God sees us, and we need to see us the way God sees us as well.

If we can do that, imagine the freedom, imagine the happiness, we can let God’s light shine. And have real smiles instead of fake ones, we can know that through these truths we can are always being regenerated…and are already full of God’s saving grace.

In Christ,

Ross
