On second thoughts…

I don’t think we really need a new look.

Until I get brave enough to try one again.

Crosses at Night

Since I only have an hour a day updating the blog to a new theme can take more than that ammount of time. That said I hope to have the new theme figured out by Friday at the latest. So sorry if that big white void is annoying to you as it is to me.

Think of it as the Holy Light of Christ blasting through the darkness of the world.

In Christ,

Numbers 3:16 And Moses numbered them according to the word of Jehovah, as he was commanded.

Numbers are important they always have been. Even in Biblical times numbering was very important, in fact there are a number of numerical codes that run through the Bible. There is a significance of coded Sevens from the start to the finish; in the Original Hebrew language English words are hidden one letter at a time equidistant from each other. These words are of modern people, places or things. Revealing that the Word of God truly was God Breathed through man when the books of the Bible were written.

The Israelites used weeks and years to keep track of festivals they would celebrate. In biblical times they used a 12-month calendar and each month had 30 days. Israelites would have both a weekly Sabbath that they would keep on the 7th day of each year and a Sabbath year where certain fields would go unused every 7th year. This kept the soil at optimum growing levels for superior crops.

In this Age which Christians refer to as the Church Age people use numbers extensively as well. We use them to keep track of holidays sure, how many hours we’ve worked, how much money we’ve earned. Also we use money to keep track of health issues, cholesterol levels, blood pressure, heart rate, radiation counts for X-Ray technicians and hospital workers and so on.

We also use numbers to keep track of our financial records, our credit rating, our banking accounts, how much we’re in debt.

Speaking of which we’re all in massive amounts of debt and I am not talking about to the government.

We’re in debt to Jesus Christ; he bought our chances of salvation and eternal life by dying for all of our sins. And many people repay that debt by ignoring him intentionally or otherwise. However Jesus Christ has never ignored you and He will never ignore you, He cares about you in a way only God can.

Justification by Faith

In John 3:16 it says: “…whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.”

Jesus Christ was crucified to take on the sins of everyone who had lived before His time, was living at the time, and would live after His time. He took on Him every single sin of every single person for all time, even those who hate His guts and don’t believe in Him at all. His sacrifice was the only way to save us from eternal damnation to hell, only a perfect life given up to cover our sins could fulfill justice.

We should have died for the sins we committed, we shouldn’t even have been given another chance. Our sins should have damned us for all eternity to a place alongside the Devil and his Angels in a place not designed for human suffering.

Instead we become justified, by grace through faith in Christ’s sacrificial death for us. We become redeemed, fit for eternal life, because of God’s unending grace.

Once we accept this gift by faith, we will want to continue to grow in a relationship with God through prayer and study of the word, for what kind of adopted son does not build a relationship with his heavenly father.

Below I’ve taken Romans 3 verses 21-30 and expounded upon them to help you understand the type of grace that is being bestowed upon one who believes.

Rom 3:21 But now apart from the law a righteousness of God hath been manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets;
Here Paul is relating the fact that because of Christ’s sacrificial death on the cross there is a way to righteousness that is not based on the Law (Ten Commandments) or the Prophets. Yet was shown beforehand in the Old Testament. (See Isaiah 53)

A man died suddenly and He found himself transported to a place of unnatural beauty. The streets were made of liquid gold, precious stones were everywhere, a wonderful river ran right down the center. However as he followed the person giving him the guided tour for new members he saw people he did not expect to see. That one he knew had done some awful things, and another over there had had the temper of an exploding volcano. The further he moved the worse it got, and his mouth began to open, if this was Heaven he was amazed at the injustice. How could all of these horrible and sinful people have been allowed into heaven? It didn’t make one lick of sense and as they came to a stop he asked his guide.

“I know most of these people and they shouldn’t be here they’ve done horrible things. And why are they staring at me with their mouths hanging open?”

The man turned to him and smiled.

Well I’ve finally come to a point where I can share a small taste of The Bible Runner with you, and I’m quite happy with being able to share approximately the first 3 pages with you.

I’ll update this post tomorrow or so with a downloadable document of the 3 odd pages…but until then.

The Bible Runner

Prologue

Kill on sight.

The young man on the screen did not look remarkable but those words in glaring red under his name changed everything.

Seated in front of the large plasma screen were two gentlemen, one was older with grey hair turning to white, the other a protégée. He was used car salesman like, very slick, black hair glued to his head with styling product and it was he who spoke first.

“Don’t you think that’s a little dramatic?”

“No.”

With a touch on the screen the picture receded and a bio of sorts appeared in its place. McAnders was the target of opportunities name, and apart from that his information was hardly a blip, he was it seemed a law abiding citizen.

“Reynolds,” the older man said.

“Sir?”

“This young man is a person of great interest. Intel states that he runs a legitimate company to cover for Christian indiscretions.”

Reynolds looked over the information closer and without asking brought McAnders picture to the forefront. Glare from one of the overhead lights blemished the view so he shielded the corner of the screen with a cupped hand. In silence Reynolds studied the photograph, his intense gray eyes peeling it layer by layer.
The room they were in held many workstations but all of them were empty, since the large digital clock in the room showed 23:34 that wasn’t a surprise. There were a few lone desk lamps that cast out the cones of light like electrical Cyclops but it didn’t matter, the electric bill was paid out of government slush funds as it were.

“Someone from D.C. is trying to contact him through some unusual channels,” the old man spoke softly.

“So do you want him dead now or later?”

Looking up at Reynolds the old man shrugged.

“Whatever happens he can not be allowed to make contact with D.C. personally. I don’t care whether you bury him in the City of Angels or the City of Sin; you just make sure he doesn’t interfere with our best laid plans.”

“We’re still expected in Israel then, end of the year?”

The old man just nodded, then with great effort he stood and without looking back slowly walked to the nearest door and left the room.

Reynolds looked at the picture of his target one more time, and then he shut down the system.

…I nearly couldn’t finish it last night ;).

So Distracted (2010)
Sometimes the storm rolls in.
The sky is black as sin.
I don’t know where I’ve gone wrong.
Then I hear your soothing voice.
I realize that I have a choice.
And I choose to praise your name as I walk along.

I can get so distracted.
My life is so compacted.
My choices so impacted.
It’s a mess.
And then I turn to you.
I’m sure it’s overdue.
Your love for me’s still true.
I’m so blessed.

And when the clouds they break up.
And I turn to you to make up.
I realize you’ve been there right from the start.
I walk uncounted miles.
My face is full of smiles.
‘cause the Holy Spirit is deep down in my heart.

But…

I can get so distracted.
My life is so compacted.
My choices so impacted.
It’s a mess.
And then I turn to you.
I’m sure it’s overdue.
Your love for me’s still true.
I’m so blessed.

I don’t know why you put up with me.
It seems like such a joke.
To thank you for your trust in me.
I want to take upon your yoke.

Just remember…

I can get so distracted.
My life is so compacted.
My choices so impacted.
It’s a mess.
And then I turn to you.
I’m sure it’s overdue.
Your love for me’s still true.
I’m so blessed.

If you wish to use these lyics please let me know before hand, as though these are free to use I do want to know IF they’re being used.

And if I can find your version on youtube.

…to the church of God that is at Corinth, to those that have been sanctified in Christ Jesus, saints by calling, with all who in every place call upon the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, their Lord and ours…” 1 Corinthians 1:2 (NASB) Emphasis Mine

There is no lie more detrimental to a Christians walk in Christ especially in the early days than Satan insisting that though you have Christ, you’re a sinner. It’s dangerous simply because by it causes you to focus on your sinful nature (which you no longer are a slave to) see Ephesians 5:8. However so many Christians are not aware of the regeneration that’s going on inside, they’re told sure you have eternal life but you still have your old sin nature. This lie causes you to live like a sinner because you don’t realize that everything’s changed, it’s truly like night and day. If you know the truth instead of wondering if you’ve messed things up and lost eternity you can witness to others with the assurance that you’re saved. This lie is almost as bad as Satan’s worst which I believe is; don’t worry there’s no need to hurry. There’s plenty of time to choose God…if you like rules.

The Truth is that His return is imminent and that God no longer sees you as a sinner once you are saved. In fact in 1st Cor. 1:2 He through the Apostle Paul refers to Christians as “…saints by calling…” In other words He called to us while we were sinners, we came to Him, and by accepting Him we became Saints.

A number of years ago my wife brought me a t-shirt that perfectly and accurately states my faith and beliefs as a Christian. If you live in Redlands California you might even see me walking around town wearing it, it’s handy and grabs the attention. The only issue I have with it is that the color of the scripture listings is very hard to see, and of course I don’t know how many people really go back, crack open a Bible, and look them up. That said I’m going to go over the scriptures right here in this post, so you won’t have to squint at my shirt when I walk past- the message it proclaims is too important to miss.

On the front of the shirt is Christ on the cross and it says: Rebel (in big letters) with a cause (in smaller letters), and lists John 18:37 after it.

Pilate therefore said to Him, “Are You a king then?” Jesus answered, “You say rightly that I am a king. For this reason I have been born, and for this reason I have come into the world, that I should testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.” John 18:37 Contemporary English Version(CEV)

At this time Christ is standing before Pilate and has just got through telling him that “His kingdom is not of this world…” this piques Pilate’s interest. He wants to know more and asks Christ if He’s really a king, to which Christ says that yes He is a King. It was his reason for being born, and coming into this world. And then he says “…that I should testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”

In other words if you don’t have an inclination towards God, then you won’t hear His voice. It will sound perhaps like rolling thunder or a trumpet, and therefore will get lost in all the other noises in the world.

Talk about rebellious, claiming to be a King with a voice that only those he have chosen will hear.

The Lord will come at a time when you least expect it.

By the time the Tribulation is over His Coming with His Bride will not be a surprise.

The only time that would be a surprise is if He came for His church…now.

Before any of the Tribulation has happened.

Don’t wait too long.

In Christ,

Ross
