Project 3:16 begins in Genesis

Hello folks Project 3:16 is something I’ve had in mind to do for a while and I finally put the rubber to the road and statrted things rolling.

The idea was pretty much hey I wonder what each chapter 3 verse 16 says…and if I can bring forth a teaching from the words of the verse that could help or encourage even one person in their daily life. So after that brief introduction let’s look at Genesis chapter 3 verse 16.

Genesis 3:16 To the woman He said, I will greatly increase your sorrow and your conception. In pain you shall bear sons, and your desire shall be toward your husband, and he shall rule over you.

The first sin has been committed and God is talking with Eve. She has eaten of the forbidden fruit on the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil, the only tree in the garden of which eating was forbidden. Therefore as much as it pains God to do so he must set forth punishment for her actions (punishment is also meted out upon Adam and the Serpent in this chapter).

He says that her sorrow will increase as will her pain in conception. It is interesting to note that she already had some suffering and pain beforehand intimating that pain and sorrow was around before this first sin. Perhaps even natural in the Garden of Eden. Now however they would be even more prevalent.

Also her desire would be towards her Beloved Adam, and she would be under his rule. The wishes of her husband she would fulfill.

Adam and Eve were made to perfectly complement each other, they were both meant to work together and work harmoniously in the garden. Neither was meant to be a ruler over the other. As man and woman, Adam and Eve were equal so thorough the little bit of His Spirit that God puts in us were we supposed to share equally in perfection with God.

God, Adam and Eve lived together in the Garden of Eden for an unknown period of time before the first sin. They lived as equals, any questions asked were answered and they shared a very close family relationship.

Sin changed everything, now they were separated longing for each other. Now they were no longer equal, God would reign over the entirety of the Cosmos, Man would rule over woman. And Sin would drive not only a wedge between God, and us but also a wedge between us and even our loved ones.

There is hope however of reconciliation, our sprit connection with God might for a time be no more than smoldering ash, but our Spirit is also Gods’ Spirit. It is why there’s a big empty part that humans try and fill with anything BUT God- but this part yearns for Worship and Communion with Christ. We were born to commune and walk side by side with our Lord, our Spirit worshiping his Spirit. To deny that yearning is to deny what part of us was created in his image.

God, our Father, does not want to be separate from us. We chose to leave him, to leave perfection, but he has provided a way back. His only begotten Son lived on this Earth, human he went thorough life, taught of the coming Kingdom of God, how no one would see the Father but through him. And then he was killed for the Sins of everyone who has ever lived and ever will live until His return.

Don’t stay away, return with humility and accept that gift, allows the Grace of God to fill you again with the blazing fires of the Holy Spirit. Once again become close to your Lord and Father, become part of the vine, and you will enjoy life eternal.

It is my hope that you will find encouragement through these words and through upcoming posts in the Project 3:16 series.

In Christ,
